From:  Urgent Animals At Bastrop County Animal Shelter

What can we say? Joyce with All Things Dog is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Joyce provides loving care to each precious pet in her care. She treats them like her own and loves them just as much. Joyce is very experienced at handling pets and she is very skilled at what she does. She allows each dog to have their own space and she lets them warm up to her at their own pace. We can ALWAYS trust her to provide the highest quality care and love to our precious foster pets. We are very happy to have All Things Dog on our side and Joyce as a personal friend.

From Heather & Sissy

“To say that we miss Joyce and her TLC of our dog Sissy is an understatement.  We haven’t left our girl with anyone since she moved, so that pretty much says it all.  We were customers of All Things Dog for 4 years.  To know that you have someone that is trustworthy and cares for your pet as much as you do is such a comforting and reassuring feeling.  Joyce was always available and more than happy to take Sissy overnight (even with short notice), and always understood if I couldn’t make it to pick her up from daycare exactly on time!

Sissy always knew when Wednesday (her daycare day) was here and ran to the car in the morning, knowing she was going to see Auntie Joyce for the day, and she always came home tired and happy! Texas is extremely lucky to have All Things Dog!!”

From Lindi & Guinness

I took Guinness, my lovely chocolate lab, to Joyce for about 18 months. I had tried other facilities, but they lacked the personal touch that Joyce gives her customers. I learned a lot from her. I appreciated that she made sure the dogs got outside even on the really rainy days. We have lots of those. Any dog that gets to spend time with Joyce is definitely going to feel better for the experience.....Lindi and Guinness
Recipe for a terrific Dog Daycare/Boarding experience:

Start with one loving, intelligent, kind, compassionate, fun, and professional gal (that's Joyce)
Add dogs big and small (she loves them all)
Mix with exercise (disguised as fun), protection from inclement weather, and just the right amount of discipline (all dogs need boundaries)
Toss with balls, frisbees, and a wading pool
Serve with fresh air and room to play

Repeat as often as possible for good doggy physical and mental health.

"Nothing Better" From Lori & Podji

I can't say enough good things about All Things Dog and the wonderful place it is. I would leave my Black Lab for week-long business trips knowing she was in great hands with people who really cared for my dog.  Since moving, I haven’t found another boarding facility that even compares to All Things Dog!!

From Carmen & Wolfie's Family (Shirley)

My first dog was on the high-maintenance side.  She was old and had severe separation anxiety. We used to leave her with family, but they tired of her and ultimately refused to take her any longer.  Instead of judging me and refusing my dog, Joyce let her in for a trial run.  She did as well as she could and we were finally able to go on vacation, and without an extra fee for her special needs.

After she passed, we rescued a dog from a shelter.  Joyce gave us excellent advice on how to go about the process of choosing the right dog.   He was totally different than our previous dog, much larger, more independent and more athletic.   From there we asked Joyce for training sessions and getting him used to life with a family instead of a pack.  She helped us fully integrate him into our lives which was a challenge seeing he’d spent the majority of his life in shelters.  He went from a frightened dog who was scared to be pet, to being a playful, joyful member of the family, who now enjoys attention.

I have been a client of All Things Dogs for many years.  Joyce’s prices are completely reasonable, and the care your dog will receive from Joyce is far above that provided by any other dog care facility I’ve seen.  My dogs viewed All Things Dogs as their home away from home.  They would get excited whenever they knew they were going to see Joyce.  Wolfie went to All Things Dog once a week, every week.  He knew which day of the week was his day to go, from the moment he got up in the morning he was practically begging to get in the car and go.  This from a dog who doesn’t like car rides.  Carmen, would get excited to see Joyce even though she knew it meant she’d be away from me, that kind of peace of mind is priceless, especially since she was my love of my life.

To top it off, the dogs get plenty of exercise, as much as they want and can handle.  They are kept in climate controlled conditions, so you don’t have to worry if they’re going to be too cold or too hot.  All Things Dogs is clean, so much cleaner than the usual kennel or doggie daycare.  Plus, it’s cozy, a nice comfortable place for your dog.  If I were a dog, it’s where I’d choose to go.  I only wish I lived close enough to still be able to take advantage of the services provided by All Things Dogs.  It’s simply not possible to convey in words what a great place All Things Dog is.  Go check it out for yourself, you won’t be disappointed

From Bear's Family (Maria)

My GSD Bear loved Joyce and her wonderful facility All Things Dog.  We had been using her services for 2 ½ years and he was going twice a week.  Bear and I were sorry to see her leave.   All Things Dog is unique because it was very much like his own home.  Fenced in acreage to run and play not only with Joyce but to run and play with all the other dogs.  She also had a place to keep them out of the weather or just to relax as if they were at home.

I would show up at Bear’s second home (Joyce) and he would get so excited.  Joyce gave Bear lots of love and he got plenty of exercise.  This allowed me to go on with my day at work without worrying about him whether he was there for Day Care of Boarding.  I knew he would be safe.  I loved that she would interview potential clients to make sure that they were a good fit with other dogs as well by making sure that the dogs are socialized and good pack mates.

What I loved most is that Bear has never picked up a single bad habit as he is my Competition Obedience Dog and in fact he seemed more settled as he had a long days of fun and exercise.  As we all know, a well exercised dog is a happy dog and a happy dog is a happy owner.  I highly recommend Joyce and All Things Dog as she truly is a professional and cares about your hairy kids.

From Teddy's Mom (Mary)

I would just like to write a letter of recommendation for Joyce Lindsay and her dog daycare center, 'All Things Dog'

When Joyce had her business in Sandy, Oregon my toy poodle, Teddy, spent approximately one day a week there (often overnight) for ~ a year and a half, as well as a week when I went on an out-of-state trip.

I worked odd hours and Joyce went out of her way to be accomodating for the hours I needed. She was always very pleasant as well as professional and there is no doubting Joyce's love and knowledge of dogs. I could tell that taking care of dogs is truly a work from the heart for her.

I never worried about my 'fur-baby' getting the very best of care while with Joyce. Whether it was giving him a pill for a painful knee, making sure he had his blanket to snuggle with on the couch when he slept, checking to see if he was sneezing and needed an allergy pill, or making sure she always had the pellet stove going during cold winter months, so all the dogs would stay toasty warm, I knew Teddy would be well taken care of.

When I would put his collar on he knew where he was going and I've seldom seen him so excited. By the time we arrived at the daycare center, he'd be beside himself and anxious to run to Joyce, tail wagging.

He loves to play with the big dogs as well as the little guys and Joyce always was there to make sure he wasn't gonna get stepped on by one of the 'big guys' - there was always both indoor and several outdoor areas for the dogs to play in. Teddy always came home and zonked out on the couch after playing with his friends.

I have taken my dog to another doggie daycare center, and the difference is so obvious. I'm truly glad Joyce is happy in Texas, but Teddy and I sure wish she was still here in Oregon! I don't hesitate to recommend Joyce and All Things Dog to anyone who wants the best care for their dog, when they are not with you.

From Gordon & Shelli & Lilee

Joyce Lindsay and her All Things Dog business has been a wonderful resource for my husband and I. We have a 100 pound labradoodle and we travel, unfortunately by plane and so we have no choice but to leave her behind.

Joyce has been a real blessing in the 3 years that we have known her here in Oregon and me miss her and her business.

Our Dog loved going to Joyce’s so much that sometimes we would just take her out for the day to play. Dropping her off never made Lilee nervous or anxious and that is a real comfort to us and was also an indication that Joyce is a kind and compassionate person that enjoys having the dogs around.

As a dog lover I believe that you can fool the humans but the dogs know what is going on and if you pay attention they will “tell” you everything.

What we love about All Things Dog is the organization. Being organized is something that is necessary when dealing with so many different “personalities”. Joyce knew each of the dogs individual personalities and always had a handle on how they actually played so that she could group together different dogs that played well with each other and enjoyed each others company.

It is our feeling that you get a good feel for how a business is ran when you drive up for the first time. We were totally impressed with the fact that you couldn’t even tell there was one dog on the property it was so clean. Joyce has several different areas to accommodate different sized animals along with different sized kennels to bed down in at night. We loved that the dogs got to stretch their legs and play during the day -  they were never kenneled.

I do have to say that our dog was in heaven at All Things Dog because there was furniture designated for dogs and she definitely took advantage of that because she is not allowed on the furniture at home.

Joyce offers a wonderful resource for people who want the best care for their pets while they are away at work or traveling the world, my husband and I certainly give her our stamp of approval.

From Murleen & Kika:

Where do i even start?  at first, the meet and greet felt like i was on a job interview and was quite extensive and thorough.  and as i look back, i appreciate knowing how much thought and care goes into that process and that all the other dogs are well screened.  kika hasn't always been the most healthy dog.  from having allergies and an auto immune disease needing steroids & meds at one point four times a day and toileting frequently, to then having three leg surgeries requiring special attention and care.

Joyce has been there to give kika her mid-day treats and to take kika out for some one on one time to walk her on the driveway and gravel as she is allergic to grass.  during the cold winter time, she would put a fleece sweater on kika and heat up the room.  joyce has been there on short notices.  when kika was boarded, joyce would allow me to call often to check up on kika.  she is an excellent dog trainer.  funny how kika never pulls on the leash with her, only with me.  evidently kika is easier to train than i am.

I loved how joyce would share stories of how kika was part of the new meet and greets.  she is such a positive promotor for the pit bulls.  she educates others and is able to demonstrate how kika gets along with all dogs and is very friendly.  she has educated me on many dog things from quality dog food to techniques on how to get kika to take her pills without using a treat.

Kika started going to all things dog in the summer of 2007 and almost daily from the spring of 2008 till the summer of 2011.

What sets joyce apart from all others is her calm energy and expertise she has working with dogs for many years.  she is willing to teach and share what she knows to enhance kika's health and improve the relationship i have with kika.  she is very patient and EXTREMELY flexible.  most days i was running late from work and she was always so gracious and understanding, reassuring me that kika was fine with her until i came to pick her up.  often when i got there, she was spending one on one time with kika either playing or letting her up on the leather couch with friend kona (something she only did at aunty joyce's as she is not allowed on furniture at home).  the special attention that she has given to kika (once dropped her off at a vet to meet me there) is way beyond just another dog day care, we are like family.  she gives and gives, always demonstrating the care and aloha she has for kika.
